Background |

Akriga was established in 2001 by Adrian Allen and Ian Stevens. Both profess to just want to create interesting, accessible, affordable websites, but secretly we know they love all the techie stuff too.
If you’ve ever used Yell.com to find a taxi company or Indian restaurant then you’ve used their skills. Whilst working at Yell they were instrumental in putting Yell.com live. Ian designed the database and worked on the infrastructure and Ade lead the technical team and wrote some of the software.
Ade also worked for Visa where he installed and developed credit card systems for some major banks. He was part of a Visa project which saw the very first secure internet transactions in the Visa world, back in the days when online transactions were not commonplace.
Now look at them. They’re on first name terms with clients such as Ladbrokes, Abbey and Dixons, as well as local SMEs and companies based abroad. Their approach to projects is very hands-on. When you work with Akriga, you work directly with Ade and Ian. You’re not assigned an account handler; you get to speak to the developer directly.
This approach has led to an e-commerce award from Business Link and enabled them to develop a new mobile technology which is currently awaiting a patent.
